WELCOME MESSAGE BY THE MAYOR OF STROVOLOS

Dear friends,

With its presence on the INTERNET, the Municipality of Strovolos is establishing a more effective communication with its citizens and offer them more comprehensive information about the work that is accomplished by the Municipal Council and the Municipal Departments/Services, as well as keep them posted about the various activities that take place daily in our city, while at the same time – being permanently in an open dialogue with the citizens – to offer direct correspondence in any subjects that maybe of interest to the citizens themselves.

Through our web-pages, every citizen will be able to be informed officially about all the running activities and procedures which they should follow so as to submit straightforward any demand to the Municipality or to fulfil any obligations imposed by the Municipal authorities.

Undoubtedly, this new means of communication, is a perfect tool for the establishment of a two-way information system, 24hours a day and can replace certain services,which up to today were necessitating the physical presence of the citizens for their accomplishment.

The utilisation of the capabilities of the internet towards all the directions mentioned above, is a conscious choice, because our main aim is to offer the best possible service to our fellow-citizens.

The Municipality of Strovolos is in a continuous course of progress and growth due to the team work of the Municipal Council and the Municipal Service and due to the collaboration of the citizens.

This course will be continued until the necessary modernisation takes place and until Strovolos permanently becomes a modern European city.

The Citizens’ Service Bureau which we established has set up a communication between the Citizen and the Municipality on a qualitative basis. The fact that the basic practices of the Municipality are certificated with the quality certificate ISO 9001:2000 having as a strategic goal to certificate all the remaining practices of the Minicipality, shows that the quality is our first priority.

Through the internet we also bring forward the electronic communication, making one more step forward.

Our aim is to become the first Municipality that will introduce the first and without restrictions e-government.
