WATP model is focused on the children and the youth as protagonists, and on the synergic integration of public art and educational activities. Young people who participated in the project had the opportunity to meet each other, to present their culture, to meet new traditions and to create friendships with people with whom they share the same questionings.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h6><strong>European Life-Long Learning Programme-Leonardo da Vinci-Mobility:<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>funds the training of people in other organisations of other members of the European Union.<br \/>\nThe funding covers expenses of learning the language, mobility expenses and expenses of living in the foreign country.<br \/>\nThrough this programme people from the Municipality\u2019s personnel had the opportunity to be trained in Municipalities of Greece on issues regarding E-Government, Management of Human Resource and Public Relations.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h6><strong>Participation in European Networks<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>The Municipality of Strovolos has been a member of the European Networks \u201cBrundtland Cities\u201d (Energy and alternative forms of energy), \u201cNetwork of Urban Forums for Sustainable Development\u201d (Environment, Environmental information) and \u201cUrbact Network \/ Young People \u2013 From Exclusion to Inclusion\u201d (Finding ways to deal with the social exclusion of young people \u2013 developing bonds between schools and community). The Municipality&#8217;s participation in these networks provides it with expertise and incorporates it into the culture of the wider European environment, with benefits to the Municipality as well as to the public.<br \/>\nThe Municipality was also an active member of the \u201cQ-Cities\u201d network (<u><a href=\"http:\/\/www.q-citiesnet.eu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/www.q-citiesnet.eu<\/a><\/u>) which is funded partly by the European Programme \u201cEurope for Citizens\u201d. This network promotes the quality and development in Local Authorities. Up to this day the network consists of 12 European cities. It is based on a voluntary commitment by signatories to meet and exceed the EU 20% CO2 reduction objective through increased energy efficiency and development of renewable energy sources.<\/p>\n<p>In order to translate their political commitment into concrete measures and projects, Covenant signatories notably undertake to prepare a Baseline Emission Inventory and submit, within the year following their signature, a Sustainable Energy Action Plan outlining the key actions they plan to undertake.<\/p>\n<p>Strovolos Municipality signed Covenant of Mayor in 2009. This will lead to a higher market impact and therefore support the production and the use of energy efficient goods and services.<\/p>\n<p>We are glad to continue our action to support the implementation of green procurement with the project Buy Smart+ since March 2012.<\/p>\n<p>The project is addressed to both private companies and public authorities. 30 July 2012.<\/p>\n<p>The project&#8217;s coordinator is <strong>Comhairle nan Eilean Siar &#8211; The Outer Hebrides of Scotland<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The project is co-financed by the <strong>European Commission, Directorate General for Energy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The main achievements can be summarised as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The preparation and the signing of the Pact of Islands by sixty four (64) insular communities, by far exceeding the expectations of the Consortium;<\/li>\n<li>The preparation of fifty six (56) ISEAPs again by far exceeding the target of 20 ISEAPs set in the Inception Report;<\/li>\n<li>Three workshops on how to perform a preliminary and a detailed or &#8220;deep&#8221;
