Infrastructure
The Municipal Sports Centre was established in 1991 in an area adjacent to Agios Dimitrios Park, between Makarios Hospital and The English School, at 20 Korotas Street, 2012 Strovolos.
It was upgraded and renamed “Glafcos Clerides” in June 2025.
The Centre includes four futsal courts, four tennis courts, two padel courts, two basketball courts (one full-sized and one half-court), a high-quality tartan running track, eight outdoor fitness machines, restrooms and changing rooms, an administration room, and other supporting facilities.
The Sports Centre operates under the supervision of caretakers on a rotating shift basis.

Charges and instructions for using the Courts
- For the futsal courts the price is:
€50 per court per hour,
Monday – Friday from από τις 7:00 – 22:00and €40 per court per hour,
Saturday & Sunday from 7:00 – 22:00 - For the tennis courts the price is:
€10 per court per hour.
- For the Padel Tennis courts, the price is:
€40.00 per court per 1.5 hours, and
reservations are made through the Playtomic app. - For the double basketball court, the price is:
€40.00 per court per hour, and reservations
are made through the Playtomic app. - The track, the outdoor fitness instruments and
the half basketball court, are free for the public
and can be used without any charge.
The Sport Centre users are kindly requested to follow the regulations and to comply with the indications of the caretakers, to avoid damaging the facilities and to respect the green areas and keep all the spaces clean.
Sports Academy
The football academy of the Strovolos Municipality was founded in 2011 and its philosophy is to teach the basic principles of football in a very friendly and non-competitive environment, in which all children can play and enjoy football in its purest form, promoting healthy competition.
Great importance is given in cultivating children’s moral values.
The academy hosts children from ages 5 to 12 years old.
Regulations: €40.00 per month.
If two siblings participate (10% discount) the cost is €72,00 per month
If three siblings participate (20% discount) the cost is €96,00 per month
If four siblings participate (30% discount) the cost is €112,00 per month
For large families and single-parent families
are given an additional 10% discount.

Events
Each year at the facilities of the Athletic Center the following events are organized:
a 5 km running race in the framework of Cyprus Independence celebrations,
tennis tournaments, futsal tournaments and other events in cooperation with schools, etc.
